Different Garments, Different Mesh
Tape Ink Pallet Screen Equipment Squeegee Print Mesh Emulsion Clients
Different garments need different mesh counts if you want discharge or water-based ink to behave consistently. Lightweight tees don’t require deep penetration, so a higher mesh like 230 keeps the print sharp and reduces excess ink deposit.
Sweatshirts are thicker and more absorbent, and using a lower mesh such as 160 helps the ink flow without forcing you to over-press the squeegee. This simple adjustment prevents fatigue, improves detail, and keeps prints cleaner across varying fabric types.
Matching mesh to the garment’s density is one of the easiest ways to stabilize water-based production.
