Flag Priority Orders

Cursor Icon SHARE A SHOP HACK

In every print shop, certain orders demand extra attention—whether it’s a picky client, tight deadline, or special instructions that can’t be overlooked. The TLC labeling system solves this by marking those high-priority jobs in a way no one can miss.

Whenever an order needs special care, label the packet, work order, and shipping box with bright “TLC” tape or markings. This visual cue immediately signals to everyone on the floor that the job requires extra focus and careful handling. It cuts through the noise of a busy production schedule where communication breakdowns are easy.

Some shops even take it further by attaching a visual flag or object, like a short PVC pipe sticking out of the box, to physically distinguish the order from the rest. The goal is to make it impossible for that order to blend into the background or get delayed. Systems like this prevent mistakes, missed deadlines, and unnecessary stress on the team.

They also show customers that the shop takes their needs seriously, reinforcing trust and reliability. The TLC method isn’t complicated—but consistent use of it builds better communication, accountability, and workflow discipline in any busy production environment.
