Get It In writing

Getting it in writing is not about mistrust, it is about eliminating ambiguity before it becomes expensive. Verbal agreements feel fine when everyone is aligned, but alignment fades faster than memory. 

When money, ownership, labor, or responsibility enter the picture, undocumented assumptions turn into disputes. Writing forces clarity on expectations, decision rights, exits, and failure scenarios while everyone is still rational. 

Most bad partnerships do not implode suddenly, they decay slowly through unspoken differences that were never formalized. If it matters enough to argue about later, it matters enough to write down now.
