Spray Tack Overspray

Cardboard overspray stencil on sleeve pallet

Overspray is one of the most annoying challenges when using web tack on fleece sleeves. The spray often ends up coating everything around the sleeve platen—machine knobs, arms, and even the shop floor—leading to unnecessary mess and cleanup.

One smart way shops are solving this is with a simple, reusable cardboard stencil. It’s nothing fancy—just a piece of cardboard larger than the sleeve platen, with a hole cut to match the shape of the platen.

Before spraying, the operator places the stencil over the platen. It masks off everything but the area that actually needs tack, catching any excess spray in the process. Once the adhesive is down, they remove the stencil and proceed with loading sleeves. This quick fix saves time, reduces gunk buildup, and keeps your press area cleaner without adding cost or complexity.
