Streamline Ink & Pantones On Shelf

Most shops bury themselves in ink by constantly mixing new Pantone shades without knowing what already exists on the shelf. When shelves are four deep and overflowing, the real cost is not ink, it is time wasted deciding whether to mix or search. 

The core fix is brutally simple: catalog every mixed Pantone you already own and make that catalog the default color selection tool. Once designers and office staff are forced to choose from reality instead of a book of endless near matches, unnecessary mixing drops immediately. 

Production speeds up because inks are already mixed, labeled, and ready to grab instead of recreated from scratch. Seasonal reorganization matters just as much: sort Pantones numerically, eliminate duplicates, and consolidate cracked or nested cups into clean, properly labeled containers. 

This process alone can reclaim shelves of space and expose how absurdly many versions of the same color you are storing. If you already own eighty blues, the problem is not color availability, it is discipline.
